Offering a service at some branches only
How to choose which branches offer each service, and what that changes for calendar bookings, the till and your booking website.
If you have more than one branch, not every branch may offer everything: only the main branch has the bridal room, or the nail bar is in one location. Each service has its own list of branches where it can be booked, and StyleDesk uses that list to keep bookings at the right place.
Choose the branches
- Go to Services & Menu, open the category and click Edit next to the service (or Add Service for a new one).
- Under Available Branches, tick each branch that offers it.
- Click Save Service.
A new service needs at least one branch ticked; StyleDesk will not create it without one. Services created by the Excel import are offered at all your active branches, and re-importing later does not change the branches of existing services, so narrow them down afterwards by editing.
On the menu, each service shows a badge for every branch it is offered at, so you can check the whole list at a glance. Only the owner can change services.
What it changes
- Booking on the calendar. Booking a service at a branch that does not offer it is refused with "Service … is not available at this branch." When you edit an existing booking, the service list only offers services available at that booking's branch. See booking an appointment.
- Staff. People are booked at the branch they work at. For a service to be bookable at a branch it must be ticked for that branch and someone at that branch must do it. See choosing which staff do each service.
- Your booking website (add-on). Clients choose a branch first and see only the services ticked for it, and only the ones someone at that branch can do. See how clients book online.
- Checkout of a booked visit. The bill carries the services that were booked, so there is nothing more to check.
- Manual POS Terminal. The terminal does not check branches: any service can be rung up at any branch.
If a service shows "No branches assigned"
That happens when every box is unticked while editing a service. The two sides of StyleDesk then disagree: on the calendar the service can still be booked at any branch, but on your booking website it is not offered anywhere. To avoid surprises, always leave at least one branch ticked, and tick every branch if the service is offered everywhere.
Moving a service between branches
- Tick the new branch and untick the old one, then save.
- Bookings already made at the old branch stay as they are. Move or cancel them yourself if the service will no longer be done there.
- Check that someone at the new branch does the service, or nobody will be offered for it.
