What your clients see when they book online

A walk through your booking website from the client's side: choosing services, a stylist and a time, signing in, and the confirmation they get.

It helps to know exactly what your clients go through on your booking website, so you can talk them through it on the phone and spot why something is not showing. This is the journey, step by step, as the client sees it. The pages use your website's design, so the client never leaves your site.

The booking website is an add-on switched on by StyleDesk; see setting up your booking website.

Step 1: Services

From your site the client follows Book Online and lands on What can we do for you?

  • If you have more than one branch, they choose a Location first.
  • Services are listed under their categories, each with its length and price. The client ticks one or more and presses Continue.
  • Only services someone at that branch can do are listed. If nothing can be booked, the page says so and asks them to contact the salon.

Step 2: Team

Who would you like? The first option, already selected, is Any available team member, which usually gives the widest choice of times. Below it are the staff at that branch who do every service the client chose. They pick one and press Continue.

If no one at the branch can do the service, the page says this is not a question of the date and offers Choose another service.

Step 3: Time

When suits you? A strip shows the next fourteen days. The client taps a day and sees the free start times on the 24-hour clock, in 15-minute steps, and taps one. If a day is full they see No appointments are available on that date and try another.

The times come from the same rules as the front desk: branch hours, staff working hours, time off and existing bookings. See handling bookings from your website.

Step 4: Confirm

Check everything over shows when, where, with whom, each service with its length and price, and the total.

  • A client who is not signed in sees Sign in to confirm. Signing in takes their phone number and a code sent to it; see client sign-in.
  • A signed-in client presses Confirm booking. On their first booking with you they are asked for Your first name as well.

If someone else took the time while they were deciding, they are told That time is no longer available. Please choose another. and sent back to pick again.

Booked

You are booked in shows a reference starting APT-, the branch, and each service with its date, time, stylist and price. Several services run back to back from the chosen time. If you have SMS set up, the client also gets a text with the reference.

On your side the booking is now on the calendar as Scheduled, waiting for you to confirm it.

What clients cannot do online

  • Change or cancel a booking. They need to call or message you.
  • Book more than fourteen days ahead from the date strip.
  • Book a service at a branch where it is not offered, or with a stylist who does not do it.
Tip. When a client says they cannot find a time, ask which service and branch. A service that appears on your menu but never in the booking steps is almost always missing a branch tick or a stylist who does it.
