Currency and tax settings
How to set the currency symbol, decimal places and symbol position used on prices and bills, and where your NTN, STRN and tax registration number go.
StyleDesk shows every price, bill and total in your currency. Set it once when you start; changing it later only changes how amounts are written, never the amounts themselves. Only the owner can change these settings.
Set your currency
- Go to Settings → Business Settings and open the Financial Settings tab.
- Currency Code (ISO): the three-letter code, such as PKR.
- Currency Symbol: what clients and staff see, such as Rs.
- Decimal Places: 0 to show whole rupees (Rs 1,500), or 2 to show paisa (Rs 1,500.00).
- Currency Position: Prefix puts the symbol before the amount, Suffix after it.
- Click Save Financial Settings. You see "Financial settings updated successfully."
The new format is used straight away across the portal: the service menu, bills, the on-screen receipt and the dashboard. Receipts from your receipt printer use your currency symbol.
The same settings in the guided setup
Step 3 of the business setup, Currency & tax, has the same fields: Currency code and Symbol (both required), Decimal places and Symbol position. Saving the step there is what marks it done in the Setup guide, so a new salon should save it there at least once, even if the values were already right.
Tax registration numbers
If your salon is registered for tax, record the numbers in one of two places:
- On the Business Profile tab, under Tax Information: NTN, STRN and Tax Registration Number. Click Save Profile.
- In step 3 of the guided setup, open Tax registration: Legal business name, NTN, STRN and Other tax registration (the same as Tax Registration Number).
Printed receipts show the Tax Registration Number under your address, as "Tax ID".
Sales tax on bills
There is no tax rate to set. StyleDesk does not add tax to bills: the price on your menu is the price the client is charged, and the tax on a bill shows as zero. If your prices must include tax, set your menu prices with the tax already in them.
