Setting up loyalty points

How clients earn loyalty points in StyleDesk, what a point is worth, the limits on using them, and how to switch the programme on or off.

Loyalty points reward clients for coming back. Every time a client pays, StyleDesk adds points to their balance, and on a later visit the front desk can take those points off the bill. You decide once how fast points build up and what they are worth.

Open the loyalty settings

  1. In the sidebar, under Settings, click Business Settings.
  2. Open the Loyalty Settings tab. Under Program Economics there are two boxes: Earning Rules and Redemption Rules.
  3. Change what you need and click Save Loyalty Settings.

Only the owner can change these settings.

Check the starting values first

A new salon starts with the programme switched on at 1 point for every rupee paid, each point worth Rs 1, and points allowed to cover the whole bill. That gives clients back everything they spend, so set your own numbers before you take your first payments.

Earning: how many points a payment gives

Points Per Currency Unit is the number of points a client earns for each rupee they pay. Points are added on every payment as it is taken, and rounded down to a whole number.

Points Per Currency UnitMeansA Rs 2,500 payment earns
0.011 point per Rs 10025 points
0.055 points per Rs 100125 points
11 point per rupee2,500 points

Points are earned on the money the client actually pays, after discounts and after any points they used on the bill. If a payment is later refunded, the points it earned are taken back in proportion to the refund.

Redemption: what points are worth

  • Currency Value Per Point: how much one point takes off a bill. At Rs 1, 25 points are worth Rs 25.
  • Min Redemption: the fewest points a client can use in one go. Leave it at 0 for no minimum.
  • Max Discount %: the largest share of a bill that points may pay for. At 50, points can cover at most Rs 2,000 of a Rs 4,000 bill.

Your real reward rate is the two numbers multiplied together. At 0.01 points per rupee and Rs 1 per point, clients get 1% of their spend back; at 0.05 and Rs 1, they get 5%.

Switch it on or off

Tick or untick Enable Loyalty Program and save. While it is off, payments earn no points and points cannot be used at checkout, but every client keeps the balance they have. Switch it back on and they can spend it again.

Two fields that have no effect yet

Expiry (Days) and Rounding Mode are saved with your settings, but at the moment points never expire and earned points are always rounded down, whatever you choose there.

Where the points show up

Plans. Loyalty points are part of the Pro and Business plans. On Starter, payments do not earn points and the loyalty settings cannot be saved.
