Switching between branches
How the branch switcher at the top of the portal works, what changes when you pick one branch or All Branches, and who can switch.
If your salon has more than one branch, the portal can show one branch at a time or all of them together. The choice decides which bookings, bills, staff and stock you are looking at, so it is worth checking it before you start work.
Who sees the switcher
- The switcher sits at the top right of every page when your login covers more than one active branch. In most salons that is the owner.
- Staff logins belong to the staff member's main branch (the branch on their profile when the login was given). They see that branch's name with no menu, and always work in that branch.
- A salon with one branch also just shows the branch name. Everything is already set to that branch.
Switch branch
- Click the branch name (or All Branches) at the top right of the page.
- Pick a branch from the list, or All Branches at the top of it.
- The same page reloads for your choice, with the message Branch context switched. or Switched to All Branches mode.
The choice stays while you are signed in. After you sign out and back in, you start in All Branches again.
What follows the branch you pick
- Dashboard: cash collected, appointments and outstanding balances for that branch only. See the dashboard.
- Appointments: the calendar opens on that branch, and new bookings are made there.
- Point of Sale: the invoice list shows that branch's bills, and you can only take a payment for, or refund, a bill from the branch you are in.
- Staff: the list shows the people whose main branch it is.
- Customers: the list shows clients who have had a booking, a bill, a payment or loyalty points at that branch. Switch to All Branches to see every client.
- Inventory: stock levels, movements and stock adjustments are for that branch.
- Reports open filtered to that branch.
- Printers: receipt printers and the print agent belong to one branch, so you must pick a branch to set them up. See connecting a receipt printer.
What is shared by every branch
Your service menu and prices (each service can be limited to certain branches), customers themselves, business settings, the receipt layout and loyalty settings are the same whichever branch you pick.
All Branches
All Branches adds every branch together: the dashboard shows the whole salon's takings and the lists show everything. Use it for a quick look across the business, and pick a single branch for jobs that belong to one place, such as setting up a printer or importing products with opening stock.
